Frequently asked questions
Upon scheduling an appointment, you'll receive intake documents by email. Clients are expected to complete these onboarding electronic forms before our appointment. That way way you can familiarize yourself with my practice policies & I can learn more about your clinical history. Our first couple of sessions will consist of learning about your concerns & formulating goals.
Follow up sessions will focus on exploring the pathways to achieve your desired outcome. Moreover, I use various forms of psychometric testing as needed. Testing provides me valuable insight about how your mental wellness throughout therapy. Occasionally homework is discussed as a way to implement strategies discussed in-session. Throughout our work together we'll build on your strengths & address obstacles that get in the way of your goals. Remember “a goal without a plan is only a wish”.
I use a "toolbox" of evidence-based approaches like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, & Motivational Interviewing & Solution-Focused Brief Therapy. Life can get complicated, & there isn't a one size fit's all solution. We're going to focus on the tools that fit your specific needs. Depending on your policy your financially responsibility can range from $0-$250. However this can depend on factors like your deductible, out-of-pocket maximum & other policy details. Contact your insurance for specific details regarding your financial responsibility for psychotherapy appointments. My 3rd party billers can take up to 3 business days to verify insurance benefits. That's why its important that clients complete their onboarding forms as soon as possible, so we can verify your coverage. Once your benefits are verified we'll notify you with a cost-estimate for your session. Insurance doesn't cover Immigration Evaluations. Immigration Evaluations are out of pocket.
Self-pay is $130 an hour for individual/couples/family counseling. Self-pay is also $130 an hour for private practice consulting.

Yes. However please contact me before scheduling if your requesting a sliding scale/ reduced rate. That way we can discuss your financial situation. Sliding scale spots are limited. I offer sliding scale through the Open Path Collective group. They will verify your financial eligibility for sliding scale rates. Click the link below to apply, there is an application fee to apply. If you're unable to pay the sliding scale application fee we can assess your eligibility by other means. Sliding scale is also available for Immigration Evaluations. Immigration psychological evaluations are for clients seeking a Hardship Waiver (601 & 601-A) on grounds of inadmissibility or asylum. Evaluations focus on hardship factors to qualifying family members who are US citizens or lawful permanent residents. We also provide evaluations for T-Visa, U-Visa, and VAWA cases. Evaluations are charged out of pocket at $1000 per evaluation. Payment plan is available. Sliding scale rates are also available if available spots are open. We only do psych evaluation's for immigration cases, specifically for clients who are advised to do an evaluation by their attorney.
